Van Nuys Bathroom Remodel
A full bathroom remodel in Van Nuys: a walk-in shower in white hexagon marble mosaic with a black pebble floor, a recessed niche and a shower panel, plus large white floor tile, a wood vanity and a toilet with a built-in bidet.
The project
A walk-in shower built from the pan up.
The old shower came out down to the studs. We built a new pan with a mortar bed sloped to the drain, put a waterproof membrane over the floor and up the walls, and checked it before any tile went on.
The walls are white hexagon marble mosaic with a recessed niche, and the shower floor is black pebble, which grips well underfoot. A stainless shower panel gives a rain head, body jets and a hand shower. A glass door, large white floor tile, a compact wood vanity and a round lighted mirror finish the room.
