Financing
Financing a Remodel in Los Angeles
We don't lend money, but clients ask us about it all the time. Here are the options LA homeowners use most, so you can go to your bank with a clear plan.
Your options
Four common ways to pay for a remodel.
Home equity line of credit (HELOC)
A credit line against your home's equity. You draw from it as the work goes, so you only pay interest on what you've used. Good for bigger and phased projects.
Cash-out refinance
You replace your mortgage with a larger one and take the difference in cash. It makes the most sense when the new rate is as good as or better than the old one.
Renovation and home improvement loans
A fixed amount over a fixed term, secured or unsecured. Faster to set up than equity products and often a good fit for a kitchen or a bathroom.
Cash, in phases
Many clients pay from savings and split the work into stages. We can plan a whole-home remodel in phases so nothing has to be redone later.
